Originally from a small farm in Portland, Oregon, Jean Grant (they/she) is an LA-based filmmaker, performer, and ex-llama shower (yes, llamas).

 

Jean’s narrative works include the sci-fi shorts FOUND (The Future of Film is Female finalist and official selection for Portland Film Festival, Chattanooga Film Fest), and BIRTH OF A POMEGRANATE (currently streaming on Paus TV). Their feature script, THE BIRD, was recently workshopped at HerArts Film Lab in Italy in 2023. Outside of narratives, Jean has produced commercials, music videos, and stills for clients such as ICON Magazine, Warner Records, and Left Productions.

 

As an actor, Jean was selected for Women In Film’s Actor-Content-Creator mentorship and has trained under Kathleen Turner and Heidi Marshall. Their most memorable theatre credits include EXHUMING JOHNNY (Robert Walton & Company) and THE KIOSKERS (St. Ann’s Warehouse).

 

In their spare time, Jean swoons over their dog Kitsune, dances seriously, and loves hosting 70s dinner parties.
